Tea Pot Party card for a friend

Some of you may have seen previous posts about the Tea Pot Tuesday challenge at SplitCoastStampers.  This is a challenge open to any one (to post in the gallery, you must join the SCS site, but that is easy to do).  Each week there is a theme and destination posted - usually, some one in need of support and cheer.  This week is the 500th challenge - what a milestone!  In honor of the occasion we are to select some one we know to receive our cards, and the theme is transportation.  Well, I stretched the theme a bit - this is such a great Scripture, and I just borrowed this stamp, so I had to use them.  I will send the card to friends from church who moved to another city.

Best wishes, Iva

I have another card for my sister-in-law.  She had hip replacement last week, then developed complications so the recovery will not be as easy as hoped.  This is one of her favorite colors.  IRL the embossed layer is a pale color, and for the base I used a purple lightly patterned with grey - you may be able to see a bit of that at the left.  I used half of an 8.5x11 sheet, printed on the inside, and left the patterned paper for the back of the card as well. I used another of my new Darice embossing folders - Butterfly on Flower.  I used the negative of the Elizabeth Craft die cut, and tied a bow with shimmery, sheer pale purple ribbon.

New embossing folder

I stopped at JoAnns to look for something else and discovered the Darice embossing folders at half price - could not let that bargain go by!  I am making some cards for a local Navy mom to use to send to her son's buddies - and others.  I thought this would work for a military/masculine birthday and then later for July 4.  I highlighted with chalk and some glittery stars and sequins, and a sentiment by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I need to check to see if glitter and sequins are ok to send.  The verse inside includes a happy birthday greeting.

3 DP and 3 embossed panels

I am very disappointed but have no time to fix this now.  I think if I re-do the embossed panels and use a different color chalk to highlight it will improve the look. The embossing is by Cuttlebug, and the papers by DCWV.

QKR Stampede Anything Goes challenge #283

I have seen a few cards using a similar bg for some bees, so I decided to try one.  Once again, the weekly challenge at QKR Stampede is Anything Goes.  You may enter as many as 2 times through 4p.m. EST on Thursday, and you will have a chance to win some QKR Stampede images - and there is a separate category if you use an image from QKR Stampede or sister company Eureka.
The bees are fussy cut, and I highlighted "bee" in the sentiment - they are mounted on die cuts.  I used chalk with a stencil for the top panel, some DP for the bottom, and separated the two with Washi tape.

Valentine for hubby

After 60 years, it is hard to come up with new ideas!  I chose to use DP with words this time.  These are all papers from a Martha Stewart stack - I got it on clearance a few years ago.  Since I don't make many Valentines, it has lasted a while!  The panel on the left is actually Christmas burlap - but the red works!  I added some shiny gems.

QKR Stampede challenge #282 - ATG - with "All tucked in"

I thought this looked like a good get well card - we probably need a lot with all the flu going around!
This cute image is from QKR Stampede.  We hope you will join QKR Stampede this week for the weekly "Anything Goes" challenge.  You may have up to 3 entries, and you might win some images - more if you use a QKR/Eureka image.  The deadline is 4 p.m. Thursday each week.
These papers are from my stash; the image and sentiment from QKR Stampede - colored with Prismas.  I added some sequins with shiny jewel centers, Washi tape, and a bit of ribbon.

SCS TeaPot Party - Cheer for Aunt Betty

The SplitCoastStamper Tea Pot Party honored "Aunt Betty", a 90 year old who lives alone on a farm.  The winters get to be long, so we are trying to break up the time by sending some cards.  I think these flowers and the lady bug might be found on her farm.  Part of the challenge is "sewing" so I used a faux stitch embossing folder and some metallic gold cord.  The image,"Painting Ladybug", by From the Heart, is a pre-colored digi.  I have several favorite colors, but this coral and yellow combo is high on the list!  The sentiment is a cuttlebug die cut. layered in yellow and red for added dimension..

SCS TeaPotParty #495

This RAK card will go to Linda who needs some encouragement. The weekly Teapot party cards go to some one in need of a bit of love.  This scripture from Word Art is perfect for that - thank you, Word Art!  I like this type of sketch as it gives me a chance to show off some pretty papers - this one, from Bo Bunny, just happened to have most of the design in the corner.  If you look carefully, there is a blue bird and I think I spotted some butterfly wings in the middle.  I added some extra punched butterflies.  Thanks to Tuesday AM DT member Patti for inspiring me to use the punched border.  See details of the TeaPot challenge here.
